Who am I ?
I’m a guy with over 40 years of life experience as a Christian. But I wasn’t raised as a Christian. I came from a broken home with a stepfather who was physically and emotionally abusive. In my senior year of High School, I had a serious mental health crisis. But God used that situation to reveal Himself to me and call me into His family in October of 1979.
I've served in Charismatic and conservative churches in various leadership positions; deacon, elder, lay counselor, Sunday School teacher, worship team. I’ve also had a number of secular jobs; electronics technician, HVAC tech, electrician, English as Second Language (ESL) teacher, fulfillment center manager, home healthcare provider, and currently paratransit bus driver. All of this experience has helped me understand people from different walks of life and perspectives.
I was married for 33 years to an amazing woman, Marcia, but in 2019 her life was cut short due to illness. Marriage and teaching ESL challenged me to learn about the complexities of human communication. From doing my own independent study using secular and Christian sources in psychology, sociology, hermeneutics and linguistics, I’ve developed a theory of Christian spiritual formation centered on the concept of worldview. This theory is at the core of everything I do and I explain it in the series, “Worldview and You".
I believe the Christian God is a Person that has revealed Himself through the Bible, Jesus Christ, and the Church. I believe we grow as we share what we know. That’s what I’m doing.
I launched this site and the YouTube channel in October of 2022, but much of the content comes out of the independent study project on worldview I began in 2007.
